Spring 2002 Forward to a Friend

The New England Subaru Impreza Club gathered 82 vehicles at Peoples State Forest in Pleasant Valley, Connecticut for this group photo.

Founded in the fall of 1999, the New England Subaru Impreza Club (NESIC) is one of the country’s most enthusiastic Subaru clubs. Formed as an official chapter of the 8,000-member North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club, the NESIC has active members in six New England states –Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Although Impreza enthusiasts form the core of the group, all Subaru fans are welcome.

The club meets six times a year in each of the six states, giving its more than 200 members the opportunity to get together, show off their vehicles, and talk with other Subaru enthusiasts. NESIC activities continue year-round, and include everything from driving tours and cookouts to more competitive, performance-based events.

The club prides itself on its open membership program. Instead of adopting a traditional club structure with elected officials, the group works collectively to plan its events. The open program keeps all of the club’s members involved in its activities.

The club has a comprehensive Web site with contact information and an events calendar at www.clutchdrop.com. Membership is free, and interested Subaru enthusiasts can join by signing up on the Web site. Members receive regular updates on club activities via e-mail.

If your Subaru-based club would like to appear in “Club News,” drop us a line! We’re always interested in showcasing clubs that offer a variety of events for Subaru enthusiasts.
