For the second year in a row, Subaru of America, Inc. was the exclusive automotive sponsor of X Games, which was held in Los Angeles, Calif., July 31 to August 3. Subaru provided ESPN with a 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX for the “Subaru Most Outstanding Athlete of the Games” grand prize award, which went to Danny Way.
Subaru Rally Team USA (SRT USA) drivers/co-drivers Travis Pastrana/Carolyn Bosley (substituting for injured Jim DeChamp) and Ken Block/Alex Gelsomino participated in X Games 14 Rally, as did Dave Mirra/Alex Kihurani. All podium positions went to Subaru teams: gold – Pastrana/Bosley; silver – Tanner Foust/Chrissie Beavis; bronze (tie) – Block/Gelsomino and Mirra/Kihurani.
