Impreza WRX STi
Scheduled to arrive in showrooms this summer, the 2004 Impreza WRX STi will be the most powerful Subaru ever offered for sale in North America, with 300 horsepower and 300 pounds-feet of peak torque.
Based on the critically acclaimed Subaru Impreza WRX, the limited-production Impreza WRX STi is engineered to provide world-class acceleration, handling and braking performance. Designed to appeal to serious driving enthusiasts, the WRX STi will serve as the performance flagship of the Subaru line.
The WRX STi is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer engine with an Active Valve Control System (AVCS) thats mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a sophisticated Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD)
All-Wheel Drive system designed to optimize performance in all conditions. This is truly the performance enthusiasts dream come true.
The Subaru Impreza WRX will turn even more heads for 2004 with its bold new redesign. The WRX and WRX STi debut the redesign of the 2004 Impreza line. The expressive new design is the direct result of close consultation with Subaru Technica International (STI) engineers and the Subaru World Rally Team to help reduce air resistance, optimize lift force balance and improve engine cooling.
The proven turbocharged and intercooled WRX 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will continue to power 2004 models. This horizontally opposed, double overhead-cam powerplant produces 227 horsepower and 217 pounds-feet of peak torque. As before, Impreza WRX is available as both a sedan and a Sport Wagon.
Forester 2.5 XT
The new Forester 2.5 XT is powered by a 210-horsepower turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter boxer engine, blending spirited performance and positive SUV attributes with the comfort and excellent driving dynamics of a passenger car. Its scheduled to arrive in showrooms this summer.
The Subaru Active Valve Control System variable valve timing system enhances power at all engine speeds, and a responsive four-wheel independent suspension system, variable-ratio power rack-and-pinion steering and 16-inch wheels and tires make the Forester 2.5 XT equally adept at taming downtown streets and absorbing the bumps of an off-pavement trail.
