FOR 2009, THE TRIBECA CONTINUES TO BE THE SUBARU VEHICLE THAT GIVES OWNERS MORE OF WHAT THEY LOVE IN A SUBARU.
Subaru introduced an all-new Tribeca last year, signified by its simplified name (changing from B9 Tribeca to Tribeca). Inspired by the voice of the customer, highlights of the new Tribeca included a bolder exterior, revised powertrain, improved visibility, added convenience inside as well as increased value. All these carry into the 2009 model year.
A SUBARU IDENTITY
Tribeca exterior styling is clean and bold, and it established design cues found on the all-new 2009 Forester. The face of the Tribeca gives it a large, powerful presence that matches its mechanical capabilities.
Good design involves function as well as form. Tribeca provides excellent rearward visibility for the driver, enhancing active safety.
For 2009, Subaru adds Ruby Red Pearl to Tribeca exterior color choices. In addition, Diamond Gray Metallic is available on base Tribeca 5-Passenger and 7-Passenger models.
LUXURY POWERTRAIN, REGULAR GAS
A 3.6-liter Boxer six-cylinder engine powers the Tribeca with 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. The Boxer engine’s inherent smoothness is complemented by a Dual Active Valve Control System that levels off torque across a wide range of engine speeds – the power comes on sooner and lasts longer. Plus, this engine runs on regular gas, helping to save at the fuel pump.
The five-speed automatic transmission efficiently and smoothly passes engine torque to the four wheels through Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The five forward gears, low-friction internal components, electronic control, automatic “blipping” of the engine speed when downshifting, and other provisions make travel in the Tribeca more comfortable and satisfying for all vehicle passengers.
Those passengers are treated to an interior that has been awarded for its styling. The sweeping cockpit design has been incorporated into the designs of other Subaru vehicles introduced since the debut of the B9 Tribeca in 2004.
The large interior seats seven – a first for Subaru. The third row seat is easy to enter from either side, and the second row seat moves fore and aft to allow adjustments for legroom in both rows. Easy tip-and-slide folding seat operation and grab handles molded into the rear quarter panels add to the convenience of travel and hauling cargo in the Tribeca.
The list of interior features is highlighted by standard dual-zone automatic climate control and available Touch Screen GPS Navigation System, DVD entertainment system (with nine-inch, wide-screen format and wireless headsets), and satellite radio.
