SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC. DEBUTS A NEW RETAIL ENVIRONMENT A new Subaru dealership opened in Plano, Texas, on October 4. Subaru of Plano is important because it could be the direction of future Subaru dealerships – buildings full of glass, open spaces, wood, and granite. One of the purposes of the Plano dealership is to incorporate comfort and quality to “... keep pace with the evolution of our cars,” explained Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Tim Mahoney at the grand opening.
The store was designed to speak to all Subaru brand enthusiasts, and it represents the progressive, advanced technology of the Subaru product lineup. “You see a lot of natural elements that are consistent with the brand,” Mahoney said. “You see the wood and the slate materials that fit very well with the active lifestyle and outdoors, and yet it’s very clean and very elegant. It’s a friendly place.” One of the first Subaru “antenna stores,” Subaru of Plano will formally maintain direct feedback to SOA and its parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. The Plano store is intended to test new programs that the automaker hopes to roll out nationwide. These programs will involve customer relations, merchandising, and showroom traffic tracking. |
