Subaru Forester Named Motor Trend’s
2009 Sport/Utility of the Year™

Every year, Motor Trend magazine evaluates the auto industry’s all-new or significantly revised SUVs. The editors consider specifications and other technical data, features, design, performance data, on- and off-road driving tests, and other pertinent vehicular and market elements.

Taking these into consideration, the magazine staff’s final judgment is based on how good the vehicle is, how significant it is in the market, and how well it delivers value. After its evaluation of 13 qualifying new SUVs, the magazine chose the 2009 Subaru Forester to receive the Motor Trend 2009 Sport/Utility of the Year™ award.

Third-Generation Forester

The Motor Trend award recognizes the work that Subaru put into the all-new 2009 Forester in terms of engineering, quality, design, and packaging. Development of the third-generation Forester took a number of factors into account, including suggestions from current owners. The vehicle features improved comfort, space, utility, driving dynamics, and safety. On sale since spring of 2008, Forester has proven popular, especially in view of fuel prices and the overall economy.
