In a special section about innovative dealers, Automotive News featured Planet Subaru, located near Boston, Massachusetts. The October 8, 2007, story pointed out that the dealership’s goal was to build a new store with as little impact as possible on the environment.

Among the earth-friendly dealership’s practices are situating the physical plant within the environment, among natural elements such as bushes, grass, and wildflowers. In the dealership, computers time heating, cooling, and lighting to coincide with the sun’s daily cycle. Windows can be opened for fresh air, and rocks on the roof serve as thermal insulators.
